Minister Atanga Nji while inaugurating the North West DDR centre on Monday in Bamenda, said 27 of the fighters didn’t want to live in the bushes anymore, and had opted to be reintegrated.

" This centre was created just barely three months ago, but they have dome a lot of things…..The inmates are happy to have been integrated in the centre. We have information that 27 new fighters have laid down their weapons, and we are sending vehicles to go and take them to camp, because they are convinced that they cannot stay in the bushes”, boasted Paul Atanga Nji.

He further called on Cameroonians and partners who are preoccupied with the situation in the Anglophone regions, to jointly support government's efforts done so far to bring back peace and sanity in the North West and South West. He stressed on the fact that no one knew Cameroon, better than its President Paul Biya and should respect the decisions he takes, for the good of all.

Paul Atanga in numerous outings had made calls for secessionists to drop down their weapons and get reintegrated into the society. Many elites had made same calls but the results haven’t been encouraging. The national coordinator of DDR, Fai Yengo Francis, in an exclusive on state radio recently, said some of the separatists simply dropped their weapons and went away. A step he says it’s of the solution. He reassured the concerned not to be afraid because nothing would happen to them.
