The acting head of the banned Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium, CACSC, John Mbah Akuro has disclosed that the 12 Ambazonia leaders arrested in Nigeria early January have discussed with their lawyers.

The message circulated by the former CRTV Journalist activist, indicated that “Interim President” of Ambazonia Sisseku Ayuk Tabe, Wilfred Tassang and others spoke to their lawyers for the first time since their arrest on January 5, 2018 in Nigeria.

He said in a short statement that, “family sources have notified the Consortium that the meeting with the lawyers took place Friday June 22, 2018….The Consortium shall release further information as the lawyers and family members allow.”

In another development, the Muna and Muna Chambers were reportedly given access to discuss with the 47 detainees arrested in Nigerian and flown to Cameroon, amongst them are Sisseku and Co.

The message also declares that evidences will begin on Monday June 25, 2018. It is not certain whether court session will begin against the Ambazonia leaders or whether they will appear soon on Camera as awaited by Separatist leaders.

This comes barely hours after information filtered within the ranks of Anglophone Activists that the US and French delegation met with the leaders in prison with the aim of striking a deal, though this information cannot be independently verified.

The news of this supposed visit prompted Ayaba Cho Lucas, Commander of the Ambazonia Defense Forces, to issue a communiqué insisting that there will be no negotiation with Yaoundé when Paul Biya is still in power. He said it is either outright independence of Southern Cameroon or they will only talk when a new leader takes over Cameroon.

The government is yet to comment or make any official statement on the possible commencement of court case against the leaders.
