The Communication and IT Secretary of the Ambazonia interim-government has sent out a video begging supporters to fund their activities or they would lay down their arms.

"We move on, you don't support it, we lay down our arms. I have to be very frank, there is no other way. You have to give your money. You don't give your money, we lay down tools, carry our hands on our head, surrender to la Republique and that will be all. I have to say it the way it is", said Chris Anu in the viral video.

Funding earmarked for the struggle has dropped in recent months, due to poor accountability, following in-house fights exposed on social media by these separatist leaders.

Followers are worried over the management of more than FCFA 500 million contributed for " my trip to Buea", and other huge sums of money for one of the fundraising projects called "Sunday Offerings", organised by Chris Anu's led government.

Questioned by the Guardian Post newspaper if indeed he was serious about his declaration, Chris Anu said he wasn't going to withdraw from the struggle.

However, followers constantly raise concerns as to how these separatist leaders continue to ask for money when they can't render positive accounts to the ones collected earlier.

The cry to get more arms comes at time when government has begun making efforts at holding a national dialogue to solve the Anglophone crisis.

Biya had earlier declared that most of the activists abroad who are no longer Cameroonian citizens wouldn't be part of the dialogue. Some of these separatist leaders are now US citizens, although they continue to command different factions of fighters from abroad.
