The Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel Sadi in a communiqué issued on both incidences, the Minister said no one died as a result, and only few were wounded. 

However, a report published by the Post newspaper this week highlights a list of inmates who were alledgely injured, died and corpses declared missing as a result of the mutiny at the Buea prison on July 23. Below is the list of 76 and four deaths;
