Rumours circulated on the swearing-in ceremony of detained MRC president, Maurice Kamto, has pushed the European Federation of MRC party to issue a press statement, denying claims.
In the document issued on August 9, and signed by the regional secretary of MRC Europe, said the Cameroon Renaissance Movement, also known as MRC, is not aware of the said swearing in ceremony.
" As head of the party's Europe Federation, I would like to inform the general public that our political party is neither directly or indirecly concerned by this curious initiative of someone who is unknown in our federation", the statement said.
They accused a certain Jean Pierre Dupont, for allegely climing over social media networks, that Maurice Kamto, will be sworn in on 12th August, 2019 in Paris, France.
On another development on arrested MRC militants, the Douala Court of First Instance has sentenced Barrister Michelle Ndoki and forty others for 6 months. the decision was p[assed on the 8th of August.
The decision taken in the absence of her lawyers comes as a result of a protest staged by her party in October, in p[rotest against election results of the 2018 presidential elections.
