“Cameroon: Mini-Africa Day at U.S. Congress” slated for Thursday, September 29th, 2016 from 1PM at the lavish Cannon Caucus Room 345 at the most powerful place on earth, the United States Congress in Washington, DC.
 
The Cameroon American Council (CAC) is America’s leading African Immigrant advocacy organization.  Back in 2011, the Washington Post recognized CAC as ’The First Program Of Its Kind’.
 
 
Fast forward 2016, CAC is thrilled to partner with Congressional Cameroon Caucus, which is led by Congressmen Chris Gibson, Andre Carson, Steve Russell and Hank Johnson. For this very special event, we will celebrate a trifecta of milestones!
 
  1. - Celebrating September as National African Immigrant Heritage Month.
  2. - Celebrating the Sixth Anniversary of the Cameroon American Council
  3. - Celebrating the founding of the Congressional Cameroon Caucus at US Congress
 
There are opportunities for sponsorships/donations for Cameroonian/African groups/institutions/initiative s/businesses starting at $100 during the exhibitor section of the event. Your organization’s work will be highlighted during the event to over 35,000 people who work at the US Congress and to friends of Cameroon.

This 9/29/16 event will feature exhibitors and presenters from over a dozen federal agencies doing work in Cameroon/Africa. This  is a great opportunity to meet the Africa Bureaus' internships/jobs, grants, business contracts, international exchanges, and programs from across the US Government!
 
Agencies such as Department of Labor, State Department, USAID, Federal Communication Commissions (FCC), Millennium Challenge Cooperation (MCC), White House, to name a few.

This September is National African Immigrant Heritage Month, in addition to United States Congress highlighting Cameroon and its vibrant Diaspora, over a dozen American Governors have released proclamations for September as African Immigrant Heritage Month with an emphasis on Cameroon and its diaspora (See attached from Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin

VOLUNTEERING

 
The volunteers committee of the Cameroon: Mini-Africa Day @ US Congress in DC event is seeking 50 energetic, dynamic, polite students and professionals with a passion for US-Africa engagement to assist and interact with guests of the Cameroon: Mini-Africa Day @ US Congress in DC on Sept 29th. Our event attendees will include African Bureau representations from the following Federal agencies: Department of State, Department of Labor, Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, Department of Trade, Department of Defense, Department of the Treasury, Peace Corps, FCC, EXIM Bank, CDC, OPIC, USAID, Department of Education and The White House. US Congressmen, Representatives, and African diplomats will also be present at the event.
