The government of Cameroon through it’s Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi has issued a statement condemning an EU resolution on Cameroon, terming the report ‘illegitimate claims' and distorted stakes.

The resolution according to government, is also a product of a set-up, in which candour, ignorance, misinformation and bad faith are all reflected at the same time.

" Although the Government of the Republic of Cameroon welcomes with due attention all constructive suggestions, wherever they may come from, it cannot accept injunctions against the backdrop of thinly veiled blackmail.”, it stated.

In an 18-word document, the government issues a stern warning to the EU and other concerned parties to stop repeated attacks against Cameroon, which to them, reflects a real desire to weaken its institutions and undermine the morale of its security Forces, in their missions to restoring order, preserving the territorial integrity and protecting the property and people living within its borders.

He condemned repeated attacks on its security forces which to the government of Cameroon, carry out their mission with a high sense of responsibility, professionalism, discernment, bravery and dedication. The statement further insists that the responsibility of the State of Cameroon is to guarantee public order, with the Anglophone regions rapidly getting under control.

He blasted Cameroonians, who have recently being “importing sermonizers or vigilantes”, or exporting internal problems of Cameroon, through various channels, thereby tarnishing the image of the state, its sovereignty and dignity.

"Cameroonian internal issues can and should be resolved in Cameroon, by Cameroonians themselves, and the leaders they have freely chosen. The Cameroonian Government is once again calling on them to be patriotic and have a sense of responsibility, for the matter at stake is the future of our country and our common interest.”, it opined.

The Minister proudly states that his people can never be fooled, and stand ready to say no to subjugation.

He further mentioned the launch of the Emergency Humanitarian Assistance Plan to the tune of over FCFA 12 Billion, aimed at helping communities in the North West and South West regions, as part good will efforts taking by the Head of State. The creation of a Bilingualism Commission to Rene Sadi is as a result of Biya’s wish to see and end to the crisis.

Other developments made by Paul Biya according to the statement, includes the effectiveness of the Decentralisation process in Cameroon which runs with participatory development, as well as the creation of a disarmament commission to reintegrate ex fighters.
