The legal Counsel of Isidore Modjo, the producer of several jingles on the Cameroon Radio Television, CRTV has revealed that the royalties claimed by Mr Modjo will be paid next week.

Barrister Christian Dudieu Djomga was speaking in Yaoundé after a meeting with Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary over unpaid royalties which has led to series of protests by the producer.

Thursday’s emergency meeting took place simultaneously with a protest staged by Isidore Modjo in front of the ministry of Communication announcing to whoever cared to listen that MINCOM has refused to pay his rights following Prime ministerial decision.

With a megaphone in hand and aided by two young girls, Isidore cried foul saying that his jingles have been used for over 20 years now on the CRTV without compensating him.

A prime ministerial order dated March 29, 2017 gave firm instructions to Communication Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary to instruct CRTV’s General Manager to pay into the account of Isidore Modjo the sum of FCFA 50,000,000.

But MZr Modjo was instead given FCFA 10,000,000 which he refused collecting.
