The Social Democratic Front (SDF) party has met with Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute, to lay down suggestions for the anticipated big national dialogue called by President Paul Biya, by the end of September 2019.

Amongst issues raised by the party, they proposed that in order for the dialogue to be effect, it must satisfy the aspirations of the Anglophone community beginning with a neutral personality as chair person.

President Paul Biya had in a state address on September 10, designated the Prime Minister to hold the dialogue but it is not clear if PM Dion Ngute will give up his position as chair.

However, the opposition party further suggested that the national dialogue must dwell on root causes of the crisis and there must be structured openings to discuss the form of state, with the view to adopt a new constitution for the country.

The SDF-led mission to the PM's office, headed by the First National Chair, Joshua Osih, in a statement issued same September 12 of the visit, said the dialogue should avoid the form of the 1972 referendum and 1991 tripartite, hence, suggested a preconference should be held.

The party vehemently denies the presence of the military on the dialogue table, and calls on the convener to create an enabling environment for dialogue, and by declaring a ceasefire, granting amnesty to all those arrested.

Still on the dialogue, the party states clearly that the nature of conduct, namely; timings and sequencing must be consensual, proper definition of an inclusive dialogue, amongst others.

It further hinted that the United Nations, African Union and the Commonwealth have solicited their presence in the dialogue and they requested that the United Stated, Britain and Germany should be involved too, in the exercise.
