Bello Bouba Maigari UNDP
Members of the National Union for Democracy and Progress, NUDP, will decide this Saturday whether or not to retain Bello Bouba Maigari as their chairman.
This decision will be taken in Yaoundé this February 2, 2017 during the 6th Congress of the party. But speculations are rife that Bello Bouba Maigari, the long time leader of the NUDP since 1992 may stand unopposed in Saturday’s election which will also see the injection of new members into the National Executive Bureau of the party.
Sources have disclosed that only the incumbent who doubles as Tourism and Leisure Minister has made his intensions known to party militants to succeed himself as chairman.
Bello Bouba Maigari is among other senior party leaders who have never left power in Cameroon including Paul Biya of CPDM from Vice President of CNU to Chairman of CPDM since 1985, Ni John Fru Ndi of Social Democratic Front, SDF, since 1990, Adamu Ndam Njoya of Cameroon Democratic Union, CDU, among others.
Also this Saturday, the National President of the NUDP Youth Wing, Ndansi Elvis could be re elected for his second term in office.
The 2013 candidate for Parliamentary elections for his native Mesaje village was first elected in 2012.
