Cameroon’s First Lady, Chantal Biya announced their anniversary in two twits: “25th wedding Anniversary. #ChantalBiya #Cameroon”, and in French, “Noces d’Argent. #ChantalBiya #Cameroon”. Both tweets were each accompanied by a photo of Chantal Biya and her husband, Paul Biya.

With Biya in a somewhat dark blue suit, white shirt and dark blue tie, Chantal had on a cream white top, red trousers and a red lipstick as could be seen in the pictures on twitter.

Both look so much in love as they turned silver in holy matrimony. Though President Biya’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts are yet to carry photos of the anniversary, his posture in the photos published by the first lady tells that President Biya is still as romantic as 25 years ago and proud to celebrate his wife and their love.

Paul Biya is the president of Cameroon who has been in office since 6 November 1982. On April 23, he and his lovely wife, Chantal Biya celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary.

They are such a wonderful couple despite their 38-year age gap. Mrs. Biya is his second wife. He and his first wife, Jeanne-Irène Biya, were married for 32 years until her unfortunate death in 1992.

The president and his wife were all smiles and many comments on social media have since shown that most people are looking for a love as strong and as beautiful as this.

This year’s anniversary was celebrated in low key. It is not known if it is because of the pain some Cameroonians are going through. The socio-political crisis in Cameroon’s North West and South West Regions, the security needs in the East and Far North Regions, coupled with issues of unemployment among the youth will certainly not afford the country’s sovereign a lavished celebration.

President Biya and his lovely wife, Chantal are blessed with two children, Junior Biya and Brenda Biya.

Chantal has for the last 25 years concerned herself with being a humanitarian, giving her all to the suffering lot.
