The family of 77-year-old Mbongo Violette are in shock, after their mother was discharged from the General Hospital in Douala on Thursday September 12, meanwhile she was still in a critical situation

The patient who had been admitted since Monday, only received news of her discharge from the nurse, at the emergency unit. Her son, says a certain doctor called Wakam followed her case but later she was discharged without any considerations taken on how healthy she was.

"It is scandalous to pay that high amount of money and to be treated in this manner. When you leave the hospital, it means your condition of your patient must have been ameliorated, which is the reverse in this case.”, cried the son.

“ Her condition is serious but they are sending her away. It's unfortunate the efforts of the Minister for quality services at public hospitals are least applied by subordinates. We have refused to leave the hospital until my mother gets well”, he added.

The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Manaouda Malachite since his appointment last January 2019 has been working to keep standards at public hospitals across the country. He has suspended staffs just to send across the message of ethics to collaborators on the field.

However, despite all efforts made complains from the population abound on the poor services rendered at some hospitals across the country.
