The military commander for Ekondo Titi, stormed the area Tuesday after the incident but met an almost empty villages after villagers fled into bushes for fear of the unknown.
A source told this reporter Wednesday that, “ The military came and went today without causing any havoc in the villages close to the scene of the incident. Perhaps because everyone had vamoosed into the bushes leaving all houses empty. The Military Commander went to the CDC Oil Mill where he reportedly told guards on duty and other workers not to panic and that the military will not relent until they find the gun. At the Illoani and Barombi villages however they gave five days ultimatum for the gun to be returned.”
This reporter also gathered from our source that as the military men were returning to base, they came face-to-face with some Ambazonia fighters; three of the fighters were killed.
He recounted that, “But sadly enough, on their way back, they shot and killed 3 guys, whom they suspected to be Ambazonia fighters. This happened at a place called Yaoundé Quarter, a place between Mofako village and Mbonge, just before the Meme Bridge.”
