Government Recruits Thousands within Cameroon's Ministry of Defence
The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence has signed a number of press releases announcing the recruitment of close to 5000 Cameroonians into the armed forces.
The press release stipulates that;
* 150 officers are due to be recruited into the Combined Military Academy, EMIA in Yaounde.
* 2500 into the defence forces
* 2050 into the National Gendarmerie
According to the communiqué, prospective candidates must be aged between 18 and 23 years.
These candidates should not be married, have no children and be of good morals.
A minimum height of 1.68m is required for boys and 1.64m for girls.
The press releases state clearly that the recruits shall not be expected to be married within the first three years of service.
For candidates interested in the Gendarmerie, application files bearing all required documents should be submitted at the command post of the Gendarmerie Legion in all the capital cities of the ten Regions.
The latest date to submit application files has been fixed for 26th August 2009.
Those of the Defence Forces are expected to submit their files at the command post of the military sector in all the capital cities of ten Regions latest 31st August 2009
Applicants vying entrance into the Combined Military Academy are expected to deposit their files latest 15th of September 2009 at the Human Resource Department in the Ministry of Defense.
