Separatist Fighters Block Sabga Road, Kill Military

A soldier in civilian wear has been killed in Sabga, near Bamenda in the North West region of Cameroon. He was reportedly shot following a road block by suspected Ambazonia fighters.

The fighters about 8 in number blocked the road linking Bamenda and Ndop, all I the North West region, checking Identity and voters cards. Sources say they were destroying any voter’s card found on passengers.

In checking the cards, they came across this soldier, searched him and found a gun, before shooting him to death.

When news of the road block reached Bamenda, security forces were dispatched to Sabga and their confrontation with the armed men lasted for about three hours.A source said he saw how ambulances left Bamenda on top speed to either transport dead bodies or injured victims.

The hold-up at Sabga caused panic around the Bambui student community. Stores remained closed from morning till 9 am.Taxi drivers were advised not to go closer to the Bambili gate else they will be shot.

 

 Woman, Man Killed in Belo and Muyuka

A woman in Belo Subdivision, Boyo Division, North West region was shot Friday allegedly by stray bullets. The woman identified as Mami Priscilia was shot in her stomach and she died in the spot.  Locals say she was shot by Military bullets but claims are yet to be verified.

Meanwhile a man called Wufred was shot dead in Muyuka Subdivision, Fako Division, South West region. The circumstances leading to his death was not clear but eye witness accounts hold that he was going about his activities when a stray bullet hit him and he fell dead.

In Mile 16, Buea, a taxi driver, Roland, was shot on his thigh but he is currently being treated at a local hospital in Buea.
