The dozens of teachers are decrying sharp decrease of marking fees per sheet from FCFA120 to FCFA 60 and now less than the amount.
The teachers want the Prime ministerial decision of FCFA120 to be respected.
A meeting held in Yaoundé Wednesday between the Regional Delegate for Basic Education and the grumbling teachers yielded no fruits.
The teachers are quoted as saying the regional delegate was very arrogant, asking them to “leave it” if they were not satisfied with the FCFA 27 per sheet.
A teacher says, “For now we cannot mark the examination here in the Center region because of what the officials have done and we are resolute about it.”
Another teacher says the way in which the delegate spoke it not encourages them to at least consider.
The teachers are demanding government an inquiry into the matter as it is not the first time that their dues is being hacked.
