The Baptist High School Buea principal and a member of his staff are gnashing their teeth at the judicial police after students from the school lynched a young man they claim has be recurrently ambushing himself around the students' dormitory.
“He has been traumatizing us,” one of the dormitory students said. “He always comes in black. I have never seen his face. When we see somebody in the girls’ dormitory in black we know is the man as usual,” the student added.
But last Sunday was an unfortunate day for this young man suspected to be about 25 years who sneaked himself in the girls’ hostel occupied by form four students.
“On Saturday breaking Sunday, we were sleeping in the dormitory. A man entered and bolted the door from inside and switched off the lights. One of the students who wasn’t at sleep saw him a cried out for help. Others students wakeup and surrounded our dormitory,” another students recounted.
Sensing danger, eyewitnesses say the intruder peeped outside from one of the windows and felt the way clear for him to vamoosed-but how wrong he was. He opened the door to take on his heels but irate students caught and beat him to death.
School officials say before this incidence, they’ve received several complains from students regarding the disappearance of their belongings.
As investigation continues, the school principal and a member of his staff are in police custody on the instruction of the State Counsel.
