Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have taken a huge leap forward by moving up to 8th continental (world 51), a jump of 20 places! Côte d’Ivoire despite losing five places, is still leading the way in Africa (18th World rankings) ahead of Ghana (24th) and Mali (32). Majority of the nations in the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) continued to slip as Ethiopia who participated in the 2013 Africa Nations Cup in South Africa dropped seven places to 102, Burundi to 126 and Tanzania to 128th position. Equatorial Guinea have slipped more places than any other side, falling 32 places to drop out of the top 25 in the continent, at 25th place, and 99th in the world. The top 12 of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking remains unchanged, with Spain still leading the way ahead of Germany, Colombia, Argentina and the Netherlands. Fifa's next rankings, for August, will decide the seedings for the African play-offs for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
