At a time when some women are gnashing their teeth for being unable to conceive, others enjoy seeing the lives of innocent new-born-babies terminate prematurely. Such is the case of one Kiweh Emelda, resident of Bamale village in the Donga-Mantung Division; North West Region of Cameroon, allegedly accused by neighbours for intentionally dumping her baby boy in a pit toilet.

At a time when some women are gnashing their teeth for being unable to conceive, others enjoy seeing the lives of innocent new-born-babies terminate prematurely. Such is the case of one Kiweh Emelda, resident of Bamale village in the Donga-Mantung Division; North West Region of Cameroon, allegedly accused by neighbours for intentionally dumping her baby boy in a pit toilet. Eye witnesses believe that the baby was dumped in the toilet immediately he was delivered of by her mother. The said Kiweh Emelda has vehemently rebutted the claims pegging her argument on the fact that when she went on the day of delivery to ease her self, she felt like something came out of her body and fell in the toilet, nurses say. She told the nurses of the Ndop District Hospital that she mistook it for blood clogged since after easing herself, she discovered blood in between her thighs. Her argument has failed to convince residents who still believe it was an intentional act. The baby boy was discovered by one woman who visited the toilet. She said that immediately she discovered a baby was inside, she raised an alarm and requested that the toilet be destroyed so village boys could remove the baby whether dead or alive. Miraculously enough, the baby was still alive and save. According the Medical Doctor of the Ndop District Hospital, they have cleaned up the child and he is already receiving treatment. “The child is currently striving well. The social welfare services have been contacted as well as the forces of law an order.” The doctor adds. The child has been named Moses.
