The new President of the commission for the control and collective management of organizations of authors’ rights has been installed into his function Monday May 8, 2017 in Yaoundé by the Minister of Arts and Culture Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.
The man who replaces Ngack MAHOP Christophe was appointed on May 2, 2017 by a Prime Ministerial decree N°049/CAB/PM.
His task is to work for the interest of all actors involved in the sectors including musicians, actors, painters, interpreters, artistic artists among others.
His installation is also expected to end long standing quarrel on the management of authors’ rights.
Arts and Culture Minister reminded him of this task adding that he has to make sure that authors’ rights are evenly distributed to those concerned so as to avoid unnecessary fight between artists.
He was also urged to regularize operations within the sector fixing amounts to be paid into accounts of artists before distribution and also eliminate corruption in the sector.
The new President Effoudou Mpande Gilles in his speech said he will work for the interest of and in collaboration with artists in peace, serenity, transparency and objectivity.
