Jean de Dieu Momo, National President of "Les Patriotes Démocrates pour le Développement du Cameroun" (PADDEC) has said the recent European Parliament Resolution on Cameroon is borne of "allegations disseminated by a minority of Cameroonians, a handful of noisy and frustrated persons illegally residing outside our borders."

In a statement dated April 30, 2019, Minister Delegate Momo condemned European Parliament Resolution 2019/2691(RSP) of April 18, 2019 relating to the socio-political climate in Cameroon.

"The PADDEC is indignant and strongly condemns the allegations of human rights violations, bad governance and other lies conveyed by some members of the European Parliament on April 18, 2019, on Cameroon's security and political climate, and this on the basis of allegations broadcast by a minority of Cameroonians, " the opposition party leader said in a statement.

"These individuals," the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice says, "are a handful of noisy individuals who are generally illegally resident outside our borders, frustrated by the deprivations caused by their removal from the country ... begin to portray President Paul Biya and our country in dark light, for the sole purpose of concocting imaginary stories of political repression or false homosexuality claims."
To the  Barrister-at-Law, these Cameroonians in  the diaspora are "essentially inactive at the professional level (jobless)", and are the cause of the diplomatic pressure exerted by the international community on Cameroon.

Jean De Dieu Momo goes on to praise the actions carried out by the President of the Republic to solve the crisis in the country's North West and South West regions, as well as other development changes.

The European Parliament had condemned the 2014 anti-terrorism law as being misused to restrict fundamental freedoms and also called for the immediate release of opposition leader Maurice Kamto who emerged second in last year's presidential election but has since claimed he won. President Biya's government was also faulted for not taking appropriate steps to resolve the conflict in the country's North West and South West regions.

Communication Minister, Rene Emmanuel Sadi had rubbished the claims. He said "the corporatist concerns raised some time ago by some unionists in the national education sector and by a  group of Lawyers from the North West and South West Regions have found appropriate answers."

Sadi had in his response to the European Parliament Resolution on Cameroon said: "Still within the framework of consolidating national  unity and living together, the President of the Republic has set up forums and structures for inclusive participation in national life, at the forefront of which we have the National  Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism, which is now at work.

"Other measures, not the least, were taken by the Head  of State to create a climate of calm and appeasement, notably, the two orders to discontinue legal proceedings in  favor of 55 and then 289 people prosecuted for highly punishable acts committed in the context of the crisis in the North West and South West regions."
