Cameroon: Three Corpses Retrieved from River Wouri, IDP Kill Another in Douala

The remains of three persons, who drowned alongside six others in River Wouri, has been retrieved, officials say. This exercise took place on Monday, April 15 as a search continues for the others, after their wooden boat capsized late Saturday 13th April.

The Littoral region is still in shock, after just a survivor was found amongst the seven who were aboard the boat. 

The seven persons, all fishermen left a locality known as Ngwele in Douala 4 subdivision for a fishing expedition deep into the Wouri River when their boat capsized killing six of them.

In another update from Douala, a young man in his mid-twenties Mbah Malvis Muwah has died after being brutally stabbed by a certain Bah Brian.

The incident is said to have taken place at a snack bar at BP Cité, Douala. 26 year old Malvis as well as Brian are all internally displaced from the South West region, due to the ongoing Anglophone crisis.

According to eyewitnesses, the alleged murderer was sharing the same table with the victim and his friends when the former suddenly became violent. Malvis and his friends tried to calm down Brian, but the later rather went out of the snack bar, brought a knife and stabbed Mbah Malvis.

The father of a two year old son, Malvis was immediately rushed to the Mbingo hospital in Mboppi, but died shortly after, due to excessive bleeding.

Bah Brian is now on the run as investigations to uncover his whereabouts intensify.
